Monaco Shore Excursion with Private Driver
Explore Eze Village, Nice, Cap Ferrat, and Antibes — step off the ship and straight into your Mercedes.
Monaco's deepwater berth at Port Hercule gives you the easiest start to any shore excursion on the Riviera — walk straight off the gangway, and your English-speaking driver is waiting at the terminal exit. No tender boats, no shuttle buses, no wasted time. A private shore excursion from Monaco opens up the entire eastern Riviera: the medieval village of Eze perched above the sea, the Belle Époque seafront of Nice, the gardens of Cap Ferrat, and the art-filled lanes of Antibes. See our Monaco cruise port pickup guide for detailed meeting instructions at Port Hercule.
Deepwater Port Advantage
Monaco is one of the only Riviera cruise ports with direct gangway access — no tender delays. You can be in your car within 5 minutes of stepping off the ship.
Half-Day Shore Excursion: Eze Village & Nice
Approximately 4 to 5 hours. Two signature Riviera stops with a scenic coastal return.
Stop 1 — Eze Village (60 min)
A 15-minute drive west from Port Hercule via the Moyenne Corniche. This medieval village sits 427 meters above the sea with unobstructed views from Cap Ferrat to the Italian coast. Explore the Jardin Exotique cactus garden at the summit, the narrow stone lanes, and the Fragonard perfume factory at the village entrance. Your driver parks at the hilltop lot.
Stop 2 — Nice Old Town & Promenade des Anglais (90 min)
A 20-minute descent from Eze. Walk through the Cours Saleya flower and produce market (mornings), explore the Baroque churches and gelato shops of Vieux Nice, and stroll the Promenade des Anglais along the seafront. Your driver stages at the Quai des États-Unis parking area.
Return to Monaco (25 min)
Direct return via the Basse Corniche coastal road or the A8 motorway.
Full-Day Shore Excursion: Nice, Cap Ferrat, Antibes & Eze
Approximately 7 to 8 hours. Four destinations with a lunch stop and optional westward extension to Antibes.
Stop 1 — Eze Village (45 min)
Panoramic views from the hilltop Jardin Exotique and the Fragonard perfume factory at the village entrance.
Stop 2 — Nice Old Town (75 min)
Cours Saleya market, Castle Hill viewpoint over the Baie des Anges, and a stroll along the Promenade des Anglais. See our Nice destination guide for more on what to explore.
Lunch (60 min)
Your driver recommends restaurants — seafood on the Nice port, Niçoise cuisine in the Old Town, or a terrace overlooking the harbour at Villefranche-sur-Mer.
Stop 3 — Cap Ferrat (45 min)
The Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild and its nine themed gardens, or a coastal walk along the Sentier du Bord de Mer with views of Villefranche Bay.
Stop 4 — Antibes (60 min, optional)
If time permits, continue west to the walled Old Town of Antibes — the Picasso Museum, the Provençal market, and the superyacht harbour at Port Vauban.
Return to Monaco (35 min)
A8 motorway back to Port Hercule.
Return-to-Ship Timing
Monaco's direct berth means no tender uncertainties — you walk straight back onto the ship. Your driver returns you to the terminal at Port Hercule at least 45 minutes before the published all-aboard time. For ships that require security re-screening at the terminal entrance, this buffer accommodates any queue. Confirm your all-aboard time with the ship's daily programme and share it with your driver via WhatsApp before departing.
No Tender Delays on Return
Walk straight from your car to the gangway. We return you 45 minutes before all-aboard as standard.

Monaco Shore Excursion FAQ
Practical details about your port day with a private driver.
How long can I spend ashore on a Monaco cruise stop?
Most cruise ships docking at Monaco allow 8 to 10 hours ashore. As a deepwater port, you walk directly off the ship with no tender delays — giving you the maximum possible time to explore. A half-day excursion of 4 to 5 hours covers two major stops, while a full-day of 7 to 8 hours can reach Nice, Cap Ferrat, and even Antibes or Cannes.
Do I need to take a tender boat at Monaco?
Usually not. Monaco's Port Hercule offers direct deepwater berthing at Quai Rainier III, so you walk straight off the ship to the pier. On rare occasions when the berth is occupied, ships anchor in the bay and run a short tender — your driver adapts to either scenario.
What if I want to explore Monaco on foot before starting the excursion?
Many passengers spend the first hour walking Monaco independently — Casino Square, the Prince's Palace terrace, and Monaco-Ville are all within walking distance of the cruise terminal. Your driver can meet you at an agreed time and location to begin the driving excursion afterward. There is no extra charge for adjusting the start time within your booked window.
How do I pay for the shore excursion?
No prepayment or deposit required. You receive a fixed-price quote when you book, and you pay your driver directly at the end of the excursion — cash or card accepted.
